Nothing to collect.

Rundeck has no servers of its own, no accounts and no analytics. Your iPhone talks to your Mac, and that is where your data stays.

What we collect

Nothing. The developer of Rundeck receives no data from the app: no usage statistics, no crash reports sent by us, no identifiers, no location. There is no Rundeck account.

What travels between your devices

When your iPhone is paired with your Mac, they talk directly over your local network. The iPhone sends pointer movement, clicks, keys, text you type, and commands such as opening an app. The Mac sends back what the pages show: its brightness and volume, the apps on it, the track that is playing, its health figures, and — if you share them — the titles, recent steps and permission requests of coding agents running on it.

This connection stays on your network and is protected by a key that belongs to your iPhone alone. It is not encrypted in transit, so use Rundeck on networks you trust.

What is stored

Notifications

If you allow notifications, your Mac can alert you when a coding agent needs you while the app is closed. Those alerts are sent by your Mac through Apple Push Notification service and contain the agent's title and what it asks — for example the command it wants to run. Apple's handling of push notifications is covered by Apple's privacy policy. Turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time.

Screen sharing and the magnifier

Sharing your iPhone's screen with the Mac, and the magnifier on the Mac, both stay between your two devices. Screenshots the Mac takes at your request are saved on the Mac, where macOS keeps screenshots.

Children

Rundeck is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone.
